Prior to the 2016-17 school year, Dallas Center-Grimes had a grading scale that was screwed in comparison to the surrounding district, where, for example, a 90 - 93% was a B+ instead of an A-. The rationale for many years was that we held students to higher standards; the reality was damaging the GPA of our students. Parents and staff request a committee be created to examine best practices; the attached document is the result of their recommendations that are now enacted.
